Slippers
Slippers are those shoes worn at home. They are of various shapes and are made of materials like wool, rubber, plastic, fibreglass and resin. Slippers are manufactured by first making the thick sole and then attaching a strap at three points of the sole. Fluffy slippers are also made for use in the winter months.
Sandals
Sandals are open outdoor footwear. It consists of a sole made of rubber, leather, wood or rope. It is held to the foot by a strap called a latchet which is arched over the foot or around the ankle. It may have a heel. Sandals are worn in warmer climates or in warmer times of the year to keep the feet cool and dry. Chances of having athlete’s foot are less than with enclosed shoes.
Formal Shoes
For official work purposes or for attending a formal event, people wear polished formal shoes, often called dress shoes. These shoes are usually made of leather entirely, although nowadays the soles are being made of rubber for increased durability. They are commonly of black or brown colour. These shoes are made with many pieces of leather stitched layer by layer. The toe area of the shoe is either kept round or made into a blunt, pointed projection. There are different types of formal shoes like oxford, derby and others. The oxford type is the most common type of formal shoes worn by men.
Sports Shoes
This, as everyone knows is worn for sports activities. But many young boys now wear such shoes for style and show off. There are different types of sports shoes such as football shoes, athlete’s spikes, jogger’s shoes etc. Its soles are made of synthetic rubber while the upper portion is made of nylon weave. These shoes come in different styles and intricate and outstanding designs.
